Irene Council-Grant
Host
Irene Council-Grant started doing Standup comedy in 2003 and landed on BET's Coming to the Stage in 2005. She continued doing Christian comedy until retiring in 2015 to pursue her passion in becoming an entrepreneur.
She perfected her craft of sculpting fruit into beautiful gift options and opened Platinum Fruit Creations located in the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia. She continues to amaze people with her great fruit creations and can be seen on multiple news segments (Channel 17-FYI Philly, Ch.6 ABC, Fox 29 w/ Alex & Mike, etc) showing off her creative talents.

Taryn Marie

Marie Taryn is a dynamic self-made serial entrepreneur whose life has been marked by both challenges and triumphs. After navigating the ups and downs of life while working a traditional 9-to-5 job, she was driven by a deep desire for freedom and independence.
Overcoming adversity, Taryn Marie laid the foundation for her success as a commercial realtor, where she began her journey into real estate investments .
Taryn Marie's passion for helping others led her to become a Drug & addiction, counselor along with owning multiple businesses.
Inspired by her experiences, she founded "Girl Lift Me Up," a platform aimed at empowering women. Through this initiative, Taryn Marie seeks to create a supportive community where women can uplift one another and learn the guidelines to transform their lives.
DR. Obioma Martin
Speaker
Martin is a dedicated B.R.E.A.T.H.E. accountability coach, bestselling author, and expert in small business and childcare strategies. She has helped over 5,000 women transition from welfare to education, earning recognition for her impactful work in women’s empowerment.
With degrees in Early Childhood Education and Leadership, an Honorary Doctorate from the MizCEO Society for Coaches, and alumni status from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program, she blends academic excellence with real-world impact.
Martin is also a certified biblical counselor and ordained evangelist, devoted to helping others thrive spiritually and professionally. Her mission is to empower women with the tools to succeed and live purposefully.
Jennifer Thompkins
Speaker
Jennifer Thompkins is the President and CEO of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, where she has expanded youth, health, and housing programs since her appointment in 2022. She previously served as Senior Director at TriZen, a leadership development and consulting firm.
Jennifer holds a BA in History and Africana Studies from Ursinus College and a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard University. An active community leader, she serves on multiple boards and was recognized as a National Urban League Emerging Leader and a Rising Star by Ursinus College.
Guided by the African proverb “Those who learn, teach,” Jennifer is committed to education, equity, and empowerment.

Dr. Veirdre Jackson is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, and CEO of Living Strong Consulting LLC, specializing in leadership development, trauma-informed practices, and organizational resilience. With over 20 years in executive leadership, she empowers professionals to overcome burnout, enhance communication, and build inclusive, high-performing teams.
Through her signature R.E.F.I.L.L. Framework and John Maxwell Team Certification, she delivers transformative coaching and workshops that promote personal and organizational growth. A former radio show host and current podcast creator, Dr. Jackson shares insights on navigating adversity and fostering belonging across professional spaces.

Magdala Norton

Magdala D. Norton, born in the Bahamas to Haitian parents, is a U.S. Air Force Reserve captain and Judge Advocate with a strong background in law and education. She holds degrees in Political Science, Education, and Law, and is transitioning to the Office of Disability Counsel to support service members navigating medical discharges.
Magdala is also the co-owner of DalaDFitness, a wellness brand she launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to promote holistic health. Her passion for fitness is deeply rooted in childhood memories and serves as a key to her mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Through both her legal work and fitness platform, Magdala is committed to service, empowerment, and balance.
Crystal Brown-Pinkney

Crystal Candace Brown-Pinkney is a seasoned financial services professional with 28 years of experience and currently serves as a Regional Vice President with Primerica Financial Services. She leads a team of 35 licensed agents across the U.S., helping families build wealth, eliminate debt, and pursue financial independence through sound planning and entrepreneurship.
Holding securities and life insurance licenses in multiple states, Crystal is dedicated to bridging the gap between Wall Street and Main Street. Her accomplishments include earning the Power Builder Ring, induction into both the President’s and Financial Independence Councils, and serving on Primerica’s Women’s Advisory Board.
Crystal is also a proud member of Girl Lift Me Up & The Pennsylvania & Tri-State Area Chapter Coach of Girl Lift Me Up. It is thru the connection with Founder Taryn Marie that these two business women have established this New Chapter.

As a trusted advisor, she connects clients with legal support to protect their rights in both personal and business matters. She also serves as an Accountability Coach with Girl Lift Me Up, inspiring others to pursue their goals with clarity.
A skilled public speaker and trainer, Yvette engages audiences with practical, impactful insights. Beyond her professional life, she’s a proud wife, mother, and “Gigi” to five grandchildren, driven by a mission to make legal protection accessible to all.

Keia Chesson is the visionary founder of TC Unlimited Boutique, a fashion destination empowering women since 2005. A devoted wife and mother of three, Keia brings passion, hustle, and heart to every aspect of her business.
In 2016, she expanded with a second location in Philadelphia, creating a space where women feel confident, inspired, and seen. Known for her exceptional styling skills, Keia transforms everyday looks into statements of empowerment, serving clients from all walks of life with her signature blend of flair and encouragement.
